Baby Owen- Kent Island Newborn Photography

Kent Island Photography Newborn session

Little Owen and his beautiful family visited us in our Kent Island MD studio for his newborn photography session a couple of weeks ago. Mom said he doesn’t always dish out the smiles, but boy was he hamming it up for his newborn session! I have so many beautiful photos of this little guy just as happy as can be. My Kent Island MD photography studio has been up and running for just over a year now. I can’t believe all the wonderful clients I have been able to meet and photograph in just a short time. Some of my most favorite of course, are these little ones. Owen had his older sister come and visit too! I know that sometimes, the idea of leaving the house with your newborn and siblings can be daunting. I remember for me, the idea of loading up those two little baby carriers was too much for my brain to accept. Luckily the best time for those squishy posed newborn photos is within the first three weeks of birth. So you have time! I have lots of mamas who don’t really want to come into the frame and get their photo taken as well. I get it. You don’t feel like you. You don’t look like you, getting out of the house for your newborn photography session was hard enough. But listen. It is so very worth it. I have a couple options for you. The first one. Just arrive. Bring your makeup bag and hairbrush if you want to, but just get here, sweatpants and all. While I take your little ones newborn photos, you can, if you like, get yourself feeling and looking like you again. I have a client closet that always continues to grow, and is available for moms. I also have some select child size outfits too!

Another option is to just come with baby in toe. That is it! We can divide your newborn photography session in to two parts. The first part we can get just your little one. The second part we can set up a date in my Kent Island photography studio to photograph your family. This is especially helpful if you have other children to photograph. If they are in school for their little siblings photos, this ensures we have the squishy photos within the three week window. The lifestyle photos have more of a grace period. I still try to photograph your newborn session within the first month though, manly because they change so much.

Dividing your session into two parts is especially helpful to enable you and your newborn baby to decompress and enjoy your session a little more stress-free. It also help children be more relaxed. We all know how short a child’s attention span is. Dividing your session into the newborn photography session and the family newborn photography session help them be at their best too!

For baby Owen, we opted to do everything on the same day, but we made sure the family brought two cars. This way, we could get everything done, but his big sister didn’t have to stay around. I believe she was rewarded with a trip to Chuckie Cheese. I am a firm believer in, why choose when I can have both. When I photograph your little one for the posed newborn photography session, I get a mix of both lifestyle newborn photos and portrait newborn photos. Here are a few great ones from Owen’s session. As always, please reach out to contact me for your newborn or family photos. I can’t wait to meet you!
