A Little about me for my first post.

Hi All!!!

So, this being my first blog post, I thought I would share a little bit about my family and me. 🙂 Those two rascals above, are my 4 year old twins. Jack and Adelaide. They are best friends forever. For the first 2 years, twins are not for the faint of heart, but in year three the tides turn! Take heart mamas and dads! If you have twins, there is a time, when it is actually easier to have two the same age. They go off and play for hours. Yes, that is right. They go off, and I can get stuff done. It’s a small miracle. Or maybe Karma for all of the pain and suffering of the first two years. But you get to be a person again, I promise.

So my hubs and I were military, and we waited about 15 years to have kids. 15 wonderful years where we got to do what we wanted to. We went on trips, we spent time together, we have fantastic experiences together. But then we got out, we were finally ready to bring in humane babies, and not just have our adorable fur babies. We go and we try for a couple of years, and to no avail. Then with a prayer and a lot of science, we got this two goofballs! My husband never lets me live it down. When asked if I wanted one or two embryos in, I said, “Put two in! What are the odds?” Well apparently once I get the good embryo, I am a fantastic incubator. They didn’t even want to come out!

Of course given our life of ease pre-kid, one of the first things we did was plan a trip to Germany. There wasn’t Covid obviously, but there was something going around that had to do with warm weather and mosquitos I think. So off we went to the German Christmas markets. I made sure to bring a maternity dress, and had my hubs take a pic. For an engineer, he isn’t too bad with the camera.

Now, I will say it is ironic that I thought I would do my babies newborn photos. I was a wedding photographer! I had been a wedding photographer for years, and Oh! I had just had a C-section, was crazy tired, and apparently just crazy. But I gave it the old college try. I will say this, photographing babies is hard! Harder than weddings, much harder than families. But oh, is it fun, and I love it.

This post will probably just turn into a massive photo dump. Because what mama doesn’t love sharing photos of their kids? So here are a few photos I have taken over the years. I have always enjoyed photographing families and newborns. I have loved continuing to grow with all of my wedding clients, and continuing to share in their joys and great milestones. But now, with my little ones starting the dance classes, and the soccer (begrudgingly on their end), and all the fun things to do with Littles on the weekend, well, now I am ready to additionally focus (no pun intended), on family and newborn photography. My philosophy, is just have fun in your session, and the magic will come. Well that, and plan your wardrobe. 😉 I can help with that too! So without further adieu, I give you my photo dump!
